Patliputra University, based in Patna, Bihar, started on March 18, 2018, as per the Bihar government’s order mentioned in letter no. 15/M1-71/2016-700, dated April 9, 2018. It oversees colleges in Patna and Nalanda districts, except those linked to Patna University. The university manages 25 constituent colleges, two government girls colleges, three minority colleges, and several affiliated colleges. These colleges offer post-graduate courses in various subjects approved by the university, along with skill-oriented vocational and technical/professional programs. Local bodies and management boards approved by the university govern these affiliated units.
